The Shine School of Music in Barcelona offers music lessons to students of all for all ages and levels, with qualified and experienced music teachers in: guitar, piano, keyboard, bass, ukulele, singing, drums, cello, violin, viola, double bass, saxophone, clarinet, flute, accordion, trumpet, trombone, banjo, mandolin, cavaquinho, music theory, harmony, music production & editing and a range of other instruments and music subjects. All our teachers are hand-picked professional music teachers and musicians and teach in English, Catalan and Spanish.
Not only can students participate in both private one-on-one music lessons and group classes from our studios in Barcelona, but we also offer the same classes online to students across the world. Our live lessons give students valuable musical skills taught by specialised and professional music teachers.
The school delivers a simultaneously structured, creative and fun approach to learning music. Whether you are a beginner with no previous experience, a seasoned musician looking for new musical horizons, or just someone just looking to pick up a few new chords, there is a place for you at the school.
Shine School of Music’s Extensive Music Courses cater to long-term residents of Barcelona while short-term visitors to the city are invited to partake in Intensive Music Courses to improve their playing skills and broaden knowledge of their musical instrument and chosen style.
Our History
Rooted in a long tradition of music education and supported by many years of experience in teaching, performing and music publishing, Milos Sajin and the Shine Music School established a specialised guitar school in Barcelona, Spain in 2008.
The Shine School of Music Barcelona was established with the primary goal of providing quality guitar education and was the first specialised guitar school in Barcelona to offer Guitar Classes in all styles of guitar with a qualified and experienced guitar teacher in English, Spanish and Catalan. The school offers exceptional guitar training for all ages and levels in all guitar styles: Classical, Flamenco, Blues, Jazz, Folk / Pop / Rock, Acoustic / Electric and Bass Guitar. While Guitar continues to be the predominant instrument at the Barcelona school, over the years we have introduced other instruments to our school such as Piano, Bass, Keyboard, Drums, Saxophone, Music Theory and more while maintaining a high standard in private music tuition.
Originally founded by Milos’s father, Professor Strahinja Sajin, who opened The Shine School of Music in Johannesburg, South Africa in January 1993, Shine expanded to Barcelona and also began its online school 15 years later. The Prof still teaches at the school and offers selected students a wealth of knowledge in music in a variety of instruments. Shine School of Music continues to hold annual concerts both in South Africa and in Barcelona, with many of the most recent concerts streamed live online.
Many are the paths that lead our students to Shine School of Music and everybody comes looking for something different. Over the years we have helped thousands of our students reach their goals in music, whether it was to pursue a formal music education, follow a professional music career, or learn a few chords to sing to.
The Shine School of Music represents a variety of outstanding teachers each with a diverse repertoire of specialties. We understand that each student is an individual with distinct musical needs and preferences and the school aims to place the student with the teacher best suited for his/her specific needs and objectives.
The Barcelona branch of the school is centrally situated in the neighbourhood of Gracia in Barcelona and the school is easy to reach by metro, bus or on foot. Also also offer services to help music students from across the world apply for visas to study music in Spain with us.

Choose your INSTRUMENT or COURSE, fill out our REGISTRATION FORM. The school will contact you directly by email or phone when we receive your form. Once your registration payment is confirmed, we will set up your first lesson with your teacher. Lessons are conducted in our classrooms at one of our three locations in Gracia, Barcelona or online via Skype.
You can also sign up in person at Estudio Shine, located on c/Montseny 3, loc 1, Gracia in Barcelona.
