Juan Valdivieso

Saxophone & Clarinet Classes

Juan Valdivieso is a saxophone and clarinet instructor at the Shine Music School in Barcelona. He also teaches flute, recorder and music composition and production.

He holds a degree in jazz composition from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas and has furthered his studies in music for audiovisual media at the Yamaha Music School in Valencia and the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, where he earned a master’s degree.

Currently, he is a scholarship recipient pursuing a professional degree in jazz saxophone at L’AULA of the Liceu Conservatory. He has collaborated with award-winning groups, including those that have won the Gaviota de Plata, performed with the Piura Symphony Orchestra, and composed music for a documentary recognized at the ARU awards. Additionally, he has worked as a transcriber and arranger for ensembles in both the Americas and Europe.

He currently teaches woodwind instruments such as the saxophone, clarinet, flute, recorder, and quena. He also offers courses in composition and music production, focusing on mastering music theory and applying it through various music software programs. Thanks to his dual expertise as both a composer and performer, he is well-versed in styles ranging from classical to contemporary, including Latin rhythms.

Passionate about sharing his knowledge, Juan finds the most rewarding aspect of teaching to be the unique nature of each student, allowing him to learn something new every day.

Enjoy a music lesson with Juan!
