Luis Cantú is a Mexican composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Barcelona. He teaches saxophone, clarinet, piano, and flute at the Shine School of Music in Barcelona.

From an early age, music has been an essential part of his life, leading him to develop a deep passion for both creation and performance. His academic background includes studies in composition at the Florence Academy of Arts (Mexico), as well as a Master’s in Composition for Audiovisual and Scenic Media at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona, where he also refined his piano and composition studies.

As an instrumentalist, Luis plays saxophone, clarinet, piano, and flute, and has performed on various stages with symphony orchestras, bands, and ensembles in Mexico and Spain. He has collaborated with groups such as the Orquesta Sinfónica del Nuevo Mundo and the Banda Sinfónica de Barcelona, where he has also worked as a composer and arranger in addition to performing.

His versatility led him into the audiovisual field, composing music for film, multimedia projects, podcasts, and artistic events. In 2025, he was nominated for the European Talent Competition at the Soundtrack Cologne 22 festival, an international recognition of his talent as an emerging composer.

He currently combines his artistic career with teaching, giving piano, clarinet, saxophone, and composition lessons at Shine School of Music. In his classes, he shares not only technique but also the passion and creativity that define his career, encouraging each student to find their own musical voice.
