Malena Cousinet teaches saxophone classes at the Shine School of Music in Barcelona, specialising in Jazz saxophone.
Malena Cousinet is a saxophonist born in Argentina who spent her childhood in Germany and adolescence in Uruguay, where she discovered her passion for the saxophone and gained experience in her first group as a saxophonist and chorus girl.
She has lived in Barcelona since 2008, where she studied at the Taller de Músics and at the Conservatorio del Liceu, obtaining a professional degree in jazz and modern music in 2014.
Malena’s sound is personal, elegant and rich in nuances. She tackles different musical styles with great versatility, ranging from Swing, Jazz, Blues, Soul, Funk and Bossa Nova to World Music.
In addition to being a soloist or section saxophonist, she is an arranger and singer with groups such as The Prismatiks, Alma Afrobeat Ensemble, Walking Notes, La Crême and Light Blues. She has also collaborated with bands like Always Drinking Marching Band, Soweto, Sugar Drops, Tumchack, Domino Swing, Miramundo and Dinatatak.
Malena teaches saxophone, musical language, harmony, improvisation, and combos to children and adults.
