Mina Popovic is a multi-instrumentalist, specialized in teaching music to children. She teaches viola and piano classes at the Shine Music School in Barcelona.
Her music career began, when she was 6 years old, with piano and violin at the “Dr Miloje Milojevic” music school in Kragujevac, Serbia, where she was born. Her life has always revolved around music and art, thanks to her family of musicians and artists. After 6 years at school, she decided to change the violin for the viola.
During her 4 years as a student of viola and piano, she won a large number of awards and competitions, such as the International String Competition “Stringfest” in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia and National Competition of Music Schools and Ballet of Serbia, in Belgrade and was also part of the Kragujevac Symphony Orchestra for a multitude of concerts. She was awarded the prestigious “Stipendija Dositeja” scholarship for three consecutive years, culminating in the completion of her Professional degree studies with the highest score in her class.
In 2020 she began her studies in Superior Interpretation of the Viola, at the Liceu Conservatory, in Barcelona, with Professor Ashan Pillai. As part of the Liceu Conservatory orchestra, she participated in the project carried out at the Gran Teatre del Liceu for the opera “La Gata Perduda” composed by Arnau Tordera. She attended and played in master classes with Stephanie Baere, Pauline Sachse, Elias Quartet, Panta Velickovic, Lazar Miletic and Darko Kodzas.
With other Liceu students, she forms part of the string quartet “Astra Quartet”, with which, apart from chamber classes, she does gigs and concerts.
Apart from that, she is a singer and guitarist in her spare time.
