Tijana Taya, soloist and classical guitar teacher, teaches guitar classes at the Shine Music School in Barcelona.
Her love for the guitar developed from a young age. Tijana began her music studies at the age of eight. After finishing classical guitar studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, she moved to Barcelona to study at ESMUC and LICEU.
Tijana specialises in teaching both classical guitar and chamber music. In 2011 she began her pedagogical career, teaching guitar at the Professional Conservatory in Belgrade, where she worked for 4 years. Currently Tijana works in Barcelona.
Tijana plays concerts as a soloist and as a chamber music guitarist. Her numerous projects include a wide range of styles, from traditional Mediterranean music to classical and ambient crossover. She has several collaborative projects, accompanying opera singers, modern music and traditional Balkan music, performing in a variety of concerts in theaters in Madrid, the National Library of Serbia, the LICEU Auditorium and various concert halls.
Tijana has worked with composers from Austria, Turkey and Spain. In 2019 she was part of the international project “Anatolian folk song arrangements”, led by composer Okay Ozdag. In 2016 she joined forces with with prof. Yorgos Nousis, esteemed composer and guitarist, on his “Classical Crossover” project, together with pianist Katarina Andjelkovic, and played concerts in Vienna, Barcelona and Belgrade.
