Yuliya Protasova is a pianist from Ukraine. She teaches piano and composition lessons at the Shine School of Music in Barcelona.
She began her career as a classical pianist in Ukraine, in 2001, and finished in 2019 at the Valencia Conservatory of Music. From 2016 to the present, she works as a music & piano teacher in different music schools.
She participated in an international GEMS 2019 course, where she studied and worked with Hollywood composers such as Christopher Young, Garry Schyman, Pete Anthony. During this course she recorded her composition “Missouri Sky” with Mad4Strings Orchestra in Madrid.
In 2021, her first LP “Themes for Absent Pictures” for solo piano was released, and a year later an EP of electronic music together with DJ Lucia Gea.
In 2023 she completed a Master’s degree in soundtrack and audiovisual composition at the Conservatory Music of Catalonia (ESMUC) in Barcelona. Earlier this year a short film “Una mà de contes” was aired on national television TV3, for which she composed the music.
